Aradigm Named to the 2026 CB Insights’ 50 Most Promising Insurtech Startups
Recognized for a first-of-its-kind model that brings sustainable, transparent access to cell and gene therapies
NEW YORK, September 24, 2026 – CB Insights today named Aradigm to its fifth annual Insurtech 50, showcasing the 50 most promising insurtech startups in the world.
“The 2026 Insurtech 50 reveals the top startups shaking up the insurance industry’s status quo,” said Chris Sekerak, Lead Analyst at CB Insights. “The common thread across the cohort is the ability to scale differentiated businesses that are unlikely to be displaced by large AI or insurance companies.”
“The pace of innovation in cell and gene therapy is extraordinary,” said Will Shrank, MD, Cofounder and CEO of Aradigm. “The harder question is whether we can build a system capable of delivering on its promise. We are grateful for this recognition, which underscores the opportunity to align incentives across the ecosystem to promote sustainable access to transformative therapies.”
The list includes 27 insurers and intermediaries, and 23 tech vendors. Winning companies were selected based on CB Insights datasets, including deal activity, industry partnerships, team strength, investor strength, executive interviews, and proprietary metrics.
Aradigm launched out of stealth in December 2025 after developing its platform with input from 15 of the nation’s largest employers and six leading payers. Organized as a public benefit corporation, Aradigm offers customers a transparent, cost-plus model to manage the volatile financial risk and end-to-end quality and experience for cell and gene therapies. Since launch, adoption has accelerated quickly, and Aradigm now supports coverage for millions of lives. That momentum comes as the industry faces a widening affordability gap. CGT costs can run as high as $4 million per patient and vary by more than 200 percent depending on the payer, a challenge expected to grow as more therapies reach the market. Aradigm’s inclusion in this year’s Insurtech 50 reflects growing recognition of the company’s early traction in addressing that gap.
Quick facts on the 2026 Insurtech 50:
Raised $3.0B in equity funding over time, including more than $0.8B in 2026 so far (16% of YTD insurtech funding).
Disclosed 70+ partnerships since 2025, including with industry leaders like ADP, Marsh, and Sun Life.
Includes 31 early-stage startups, 14 of which are at the seed stage.
Employs 5,400+ people, with a median headcount of 52 across the cohort.
Ranks among the top 4% of private companies globally for overall health and growth potential.
